Many believe the history of Florida’s Space Coast, in numerous ways, is the history of Florida. Brevard and Volusia counties have played an important role in Florida’s history from the discovery of an ancient eight thousand year-old archaeological site just outside of Titusville to the transformation of the coastline into a hub of space exploration. There have also been dark moments in the area’s history, including the death of Harry T. Moore, one of the first martyrs of the Civil Rights Movement. It is all in “Florida Remembers: The Space Coast”.
