The Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus moved its winter quarters from Bridgeport, Connecticut to Sarasota, Florida in 1927. The move of the “Greatest Show on Earth” transformed the sleepy fishing community on the west coast of Florida into a hub of circus activity…. attracting famous families and artists from around the world, as well as thousands of tourists.
