Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  Topics include:

  • Governor Rick Scott went to Puerto Rico to survey damage from Hurricane Maria, then met with President Trump at the White House to report on the needs there and Florida’s efforts to help.
  • Updates on continuing recovery efforts from Hurricane Irma in Florida, from the Keys and Collier County to communities in the northeast.
  • The Governor and members of the Legislature called for policy changes to combat opioid abuse.
