Capitol Update – Week Ending 09/22/2023

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  This week’s topics include:     

• House Republicans officially designated Miami Rep. Daniel Perez to be Speaker in 2024.
• The state issued an arrest warrant for Tiffany Carr, former CEO of the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence, saying she took millions in state funds that were supposed to go to domestic violence shelters.
• The Division of Emergency Management held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Emergency Operations Center in Tallahassee.
