Capitol Update – Week Ending 01/20/2023

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government. Topics this week include:  

• House Speaker Paul Renner unveiled House Bill 1, which would make school scholarships/vouchers available to all pupils.
• The Governor’s office asked all state universities to report detailed information about gender affirming medical services over the last five years.
• The Governor and Cabinet met for the first time since August, and as the Clemency Board, they met for the first time since March 2022.
