Capitol Update – Week Ending 11/25/2022

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  Topics this week include:   

• During organization session of the Legislature, Senator Kathleen Passidomo was sworn in as Senate President and Rep. Paul Renner was sworn in as Speaker of the House.
• Democrats in the House installed Rep. Fentrice Driskell as Minority Leader; Senate Democrats installed Sen. Lauren Book as Minority Leader.
• A review of Hurricanes Ian and Nicole, as we approach the end of hurricane season and a special session.
