Capitol Update – Week Ending 06/18/2021

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government. Topics this week include:    

• The Cabinet approved rules to allow local police funding disputes to be decided by them – despite objections from the state’s only statewide elected Democrat.
• Though Florida shut down its COVID-19 dashboard, some stress the importance of collecting the data, especially for nursing homes and long-term care facilities. 
• Even with a new elections law in court and uncertainty on some of the measures, supervisors of elections are forging ahead with its implementation.
