Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  Topics this week include:

  • As COVID-19 cases continued to rise, a coalition of mayors urged the Governor to do more to stop the spread.
  • Lawmakers gathered at the Capitol for Organization Session, officially choosing a new House Speaker, Senate President and minority leaders for each chamber.
  • At the Board of Education meeting, Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran said distance learning options would remain after the winter break, but didn’t say if funding would remain the same.
