Capitol Update – Week Ending 11/20/2020
Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government. Topics this week include:
- As COVID-19 cases continued to rise, a coalition of mayors urged the Governor to do more to stop the spread.
- Lawmakers gathered at the Capitol for Organization Session, officially choosing a new House Speaker, Senate President and minority leaders for each chamber.
- At the Board of Education meeting, Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran said distance learning options would remain after the winter break, but didn’t say if funding would remain the same.
