Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  Topics this week include:

  • While more K-12 schools are starting to reopen, a Florida judge denied a motion to throw out a lawsuit by the Florida Education Association to cancel face to face instruction.
  • With college athletic conferences around the nation deciding on whether to cancel football season, Florida’s Governor made it clear he wants players to play.
  • A council responsible for nominating candidates for the Public Service Commission chose four finalists – including three lawmakers – to send to the Governor to fill an upcoming vacancy.
