Capitol Update – Week Ending 07/24/2020

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government. Topics this week include:

• The Florida Education Association, the union that represents most of Florida’s teachers and school staff, is suing the state over its back to school mandate.
• With workers comp claim numbers rising for first responders, some elected officials are looking toward policy to see how the state can best help keep them protected.
• The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officially suspended the wild oyster industry in Apalachicola – a move to try to restore the oyster population.
