Capitol Update – Week Ending 03/30/2018

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government. This week’s topics include:

• The Governor signed a bill that provides workers’ compensation coverage for first responders with Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome.
• A federal judge gave the Governor and members of the Cabinet until April 26 to come up with new rules and standards for restoring voting rights to felons who’ve done their time.
• The Board of Education designated two charter school companies as “hope operators”, eligible for funding under House Bill 7069 approved last year.
