Capitol Update is daily review of state government during the Legislative Session. Today’s topics include:

• Senators approved new political maps for congressional districts and the state Senate, sending their proposals to the House.
• A pair of bills aimed at strengthening parent involvement in public schools were opposed by Democrats who had objections to aspects of the bills concerning school board pay and gender identity.
• The Governor gives an update on the First Lady’s cancer diagnosis – she completed her final chemotherapy treatment.
