Capitol Update is daily review of state government during the Legislative Session. Today’s topics include:

  • A record-breaking $101 billion state budget was “put on the table” for all to see, setting the stage for session to end on time.
  • The Senate rejected the bill that would allow early stages of searches for university presidents to be kept from the public, though it’s possible the vote could be reconsidered.
  • The House and Senate paid tribute to employees and health experts who managed COVID safety measures at the Capitol, and to DEM Director Jared Moskowitz who managed COVID response statewide.
