The Florida Constitution Revision Commission submitted a proposed constitutional revision (Amendment 6) related to rights of victims of crime, the mandatory retirement age of judges and justices, and requirements for reviewing agency interpretations of statutes and rules along with a ballot title and summary to the Department of State for inclusion on the 2018 General Election Ballot. Mr. Hollander and Ms. Knowles filed suits in the trial court claiming the ballot title and summary are misleading and improperly bundled. The trial court found they do not meet the requirements of Florida law and ordered Amendment 6 removed from the ballot. On appeal, the First District Court of Appeal certified the case to this Court for immediate review as being of great public importance.
