1/29/25 Capitol Update Extended – Governor Said He Will Veto Special Session Immigration Bill

Governor Ron DeSantis said he will veto the “Tackling and Reforming Unlawful Migration Policy (TRUMP) Act” approved by the Legislature during special session in January. He said it would hinder rather than help efforts to deport illegal immigrants. Supporters said it beefs up the authority of state and local law enforcement to support federal immigration law.
