- Governor Rick Scott announced that he wants Florida to spend $200 million to accelerate repairs on the Herbert Hoover Dike around Lake Okeechobee.

- The Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission advised everyone that bat maternity season is now in effect, which means bats cannot be removed from structures.
