In 1997, Congressman Pete Peterson of the Florida Panhandle became the first U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam since 1975. After being held in Vietnam as a prisoner of war for seven years, Ambassador Peterson now returns to help normalize relations between his home country and the country which held him captive. Florida Crossroads visits the Ambassador in Vietnam and travels with a group of Florida educators and business leaders on a mission to open ties to this once disfavored nation.
