Capitol Update – Week Ending 07/28/2017

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  Topics this week include:

• Governor Rick Scott announced that he will ask for an extra $30 million in next  year’s state budget for pay raises for state law enforcement officers.
• State economists updated their forecasts for energy and communications tax revenue and for vehicle registrations.
• The Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission postponed the start of Gulf County’s scallop season because of an algae bloom.
