According to the PSC, FPL provides electric service to more than 4.8 million retail customers in all or parts of 35 counties. In June, the PSC held nine customer service hearings in FPL’s service area. In August, FPL and intervenors presented sworn testimony and exhibits in support of their positions and in October, FPL and intervenors reached a settlement agreement for a lower increase – from $1.3 billion to $811 million. On October 27, the PSC held a hearing giving all parties the opportunity to present testimony and conduct cross-examination on the terms of the agreement. In this hearing, the Public Service Commission considers the settlement proposal.
